Workplace Technology Services Consultant

Goodyear requires a Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) specialist with knowledge and experience for supporting client OS systems. Tasks and required skills include:

Job Responsibilities:

Image Definition, Strategy, and Design

• Building from Goodyear’s current baseline images
• Define the operating systems, applications, geographies, and encryption/security functionality that will be incorporated into the core images, and update the image definitions as necessary
• Recommend specific operating system and application configuration settings
• Evaluate and incorporate where appropriate, all images management and deployment mechanisms including, but not limited to, Azure, CMG, Co-management, and Autopilot

Image Engineering

• Develop a set of core images and/or core image profiles based on Goodyear-defined requirements for use on End User Devices, thin clients, industrial PC's (IPC's) and automate updates and deployments for the build process
• Incorporate into the core images the Goodyear-defined operating system, OS version and any Goodyear-defined OS configuration settings (security baselines, BIOS updates, driver updates, etc)

Image Validation

• Develop a test and release plan for validating each image’s proper execution on End User Devices
• Develop and publish the procedures for test execution, to include testing OS images (core and customizations) with all supported hardware and languages according to SOPs
• Develop, publish, and comply with the process for documenting and reviewing test plans and results
• Perform or govern the performance of iterative testing until all test plan components pass without failure on all devices in-scope for the given image
• Develop, publish, and comply with process for documenting image approval
• Ensure appropriate coordination with the applicable application support teams (Managed Service Providers or Goodyear Plant IT) regarding specific application testing to ensure no conflicts exist with respect to core image software
• Automate the checks and validation in the core images and applications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5-years experience performing architecture, design, and administration of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
• Operating System & Development (OSD)
• Application Lifecycle Management
• PowerShell scripting
• In-depth knowledge of SCCM and WSUS
• Experience with large-scale IT infrastructure management
