The Role

WordPress Frontend Developer

in-house owner of all things WordPress

This role is for someone who loves clean code, hates plugin bloat, and can single-handedly deliver robust, responsive, well-engineered websites.

Responsibilities

Website Development

• Build full websites in

  WordPress

  — theme builder, templates, global styling, the works.
• Translate

  Figma/Adobe XD designs

  into clean, responsive, high-fidelity frontend builds.
• Rebuild & migrate old

  WPBakery pages

  into Elementor without breaking SEO, URLs, or sanity.

Custom Code Ownership

• Write

  clean, organised CSS

  for custom styling and layout improvements.
• Develop

  custom JS/jQuery functions

  for interactions, animations, and logic that Elementor can’t handle.
• Make small

  PHP tweaks

  (hooks, filters, template changes) within a child theme.

Performance, QA & Maintenance

• Ensure responsiveness across breakpoints (no weird mobile layouts).
• Optimise pages for speed, SEO hygiene, and plugin sanity.
• Troubleshoot plugin conflicts, theme bugs, random WordPress mood swings.
• Maintain and update existing websites when required.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the design team to ensure builds match creative intent.
• Ask smart questions. Push back when needed. Suggest alternatives when something is technically silly.

Requirements

Technical Must-Haves

• 3–5 years of

  hands-on WordPress development

  (not drag-and-drop beginners).
• Strong expertise in

  Elementor Pro

  (theme builder, templates, custom widgets preferred).
• Ability to understand and migrate pages built in

  WPBakery

  .
• Excellent

  HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, Grid

  skills.
• Competent in

  JavaScript/jQuery

  — can build or tweak interactions without depending on plugins.
• Basic

  PHP

  knowledge specific to WordPress.
• Familiarity with

  Git

  for version control.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with

  ACF (Advanced Custom Fields)

  .
• Familiarity with animation libraries (GSAP, Locomotive Scroll, Lenis).
• Understanding of SEO best practices.
• Experience working in creative/design-first agencies.
