Summary:

Engine & ATS Calibration

Responsibilities

Engine/ATS calibration & development:

• Develop and optimize performance, emissions, and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) calibrations for internal combustion engines/ATS on test bench in accordance with specifications and legislative requirements.
• Optimize the Engine / ATS calibration to meet the vehicle performance & FE targets
• Optimize vehicle level calibration to meet OBD & IUPR requirements
• Optimize Fuel Injection system calibration to meet the performance requirements
• Optimize turbocharger calibration to meet the performance requirements

Analysis & Optimization:

• Collaborate with simulation teams to perform CAE / CFD analysis to finalise engine / ATS hardware technical specifications
• Analyse test data and collaborate with respective design teams to interpret results and implement calibration / design improvements.

Program Management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, testing, and validation to ensure calibration meets performance, emissions, better fuel efficiency and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor progress, identify potential delays, and adhere to project timelines for calibration development and dataset releases.

Problem Solving:

• Diagnose and resolve engine and ATS-related issues encountered at the end of the production line and in the field to ensure the smooth operation of production lines and field vehicles.
• To retrospect, implement corrective actions and establish preventive measures to address recurring issues and enhance product reliability.
• Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and service teams to implement effective solutions.

Support to design, develop & reduce cost for the Engine/ATS components.

• Provide support for the design and selection of Engine/ATS components along with the respective design teams.
• Generate, evaluate, and optimize IMCS ideas (cost reduction) associated with Engine/ATS components/calibrations to enhance Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for customers.
• Support in implementing efficiency measures such as value engineering, supplier negotiations, and material substitution to reduce production costs without compromising quality.
• Analyse market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for cost optimization and value enhancement.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with homologation team and certification agencies during engine testing & certification
• Interface with suppliers and vendors for calibration development related deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in Engine & ATS calibration development, preferably in commercial vehicles
• Strong understanding & hands on work experience in engine / ATS calibration logics
• Experience with regulatory compliance and homologation processes.
• Knowledge on INCA, MATLAB, Concerto, CRETA or any calibration and diagnosis related tool
