Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop ammonia refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial applications.
• Perform heat load calculations, compressor capacity selection, and system balance based on process requirements.
• Prepare Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), GA drawings, and system schematics.
• Select and size equipment such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, receivers, and control valves.
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for procurement.
• Collaborate with project and site teams during installation and commissioning phases.
• Ensure all designs comply with ASHRAE, IIAR, and other relevant safety and engineering standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies, energy efficiency analysis, and optimization of refrigeration cycles.
• Provide technical support to sales and proposal teams in preparing project cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure conformity with project design and technical requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering exercises, and risk assessments.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Refrigeration, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 58 years of experience in industrial refrigeration design, specifically ammonia systems.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycle principles.
• Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Excel; knowledge of refrigeration design software (e.g., CoolPack, Refprop) preferred.
• Understanding of IIAR, ASHRAE, ISO, and local safety standards related to ammonia systems.
• Experience with P&ID development, pipe sizing, and pressure drop calculations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
