The 45-Day Engineering Sprint at Akaththi Farms in Chennai offers a unique opportunity for an HVAC-R Engineering Intern specializing in CEA Systems. The main goal of this internship is to design, optimize, and assemble a functional cooling unit for cultivation purposes. During this 45-day internship, you will have the chance to work on a real-world system and take full ownership of the project. Your primary task will be to design, optimize, and assemble a complete cooling system that can control a chamber temperature between 20-24C. This internship is not just about learning but focuses on hands-on experience and the challenge of delivering a fully functional, optimized, and frost-free cooling system. Your responsibilities will include designing the refrigeration system architecture for a chamber, selecting and matching core components such as compressor, evaporator, condenser, and capillary, optimizing fan placement and airflow logic for energy efficiency, integrating control systems like thermostats and sensors, as well as physically assembling the cooling unit through brazing, wiring, testing, and tuning. The ultimate goal is to deliver a fully functional system that is ready to power live mushroom cultivation. Ideal candidates for this internship are final-year or recent graduates in Mechanical, HVAC-R, Mechatronics, or Thermal Engineering with a strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle, heat load calculation, and airflow design. Hands-on experience or a strong willingness to learn practical skills like brazing, vacuuming, and refrigerant charging is highly desirable. Candidates should be eager to deliver tangible results rather than focusing solely on simulations or observations. Any familiarity with R134a or experience in climate-controlled environments would be a bonus. The internship will take place on-site in Chennai, where you will have access to a full workspace, tools, and components required for the project. The duration of the internship is 45 days, and it is a paid opportunity. The outcome of the internship includes a fully functional frost-free cooling unit, an internship certificate, a letter of recommendation, a portfolio-worthy project deployed in production, and deep mentorship from domain experts. Join us at Akaththi Farms for a hands-on, output-driven internship that will challenge you to design and build a cutting-edge cooling system for sustainable agriculture. #AkaththiFarms #CoolingSystemIntern #HVACInternship #RefrigerationDesign #ControlledEnvironmentAg #ClimateTechInternship #SmartFarming #MushroomFarming #MechanicalEngineering #R134a #OutputDrivenInternship,
