Job Description

Role: Windows Server Administrator L2

Location: Jammu

Experience: 3 to 6 years

JD:

Windows Server Administrator (L2)

Windows Server Management

Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
Administer Active Directory including users, groups, GPOs, OUs, and domain services.
Perform regular server health checks, performance monitoring, and tuning.
Manage core services such as DNS, DHCP, IIS, File Servers, and failover mechanisms.

L2 Incident & Support

Provide Level 2 support for server incidents, service requests, and escalations.
Troubleshoot OS-level issues, authentication failures, GPO-related problems, and connectivity issues.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents.

Backup, Patching & Security

Oversee backup and recovery operations using tools like Veeam, Symantec, or Windows Backup.
Manage patching cycles, Windows updates, and system hardening activities.
Monitor antivirus, firewall configurations, and security compliance.

Virtualization & Infrastructure

Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
Create and manage virtual machines, templates, snapshots, and resource allocations.
Monitor and optimize CPU, memory, storage, and overall system utilization.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Update SOPs, server inventories, incident records, and configuration documentation.
Support project documentation requirements and compliance audits for the CDAC project.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
Expertise in Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP.
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing basics).
Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
Knowledge of backup solutions, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
Proven L2 troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

BE/B.Tech/MCA/B.Sc (IT) or equivalent technical qualification.
Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE) preferred.
