Music Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Research & Enrichment:

   Conduct in-depth web research using various authoritative sources to gather, verify, and enrich music-related data, including artist biographies, album details, track information, release dates, credits (composers, producers, engineers), lyrical content, and more.

• Metadata Quality Assurance:

   Meticulously review, audit, and correct existing music metadata to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal style guides and industry standards.

• Content Categorization:

   Apply expert knowledge to accurately classify and tag music content based on genre, sub-genre, mood, theme, instrumentation, lyrical content, and other relevant attributes.

• Discrepancy Resolution:

   Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies, inconsistencies, or gaps in music data, collaborating with internal teams as needed.

• Trend Monitoring:

   Stay abreast of new music releases, emerging artists, industry trends, and evolving music data standards to proactively enhance our catalog.

• Documentation & Guidelines:

   Contribute to the development and refinement of internal data guidelines, best practices, and research methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Exceptional Western Music Knowledge:

   A demonstrable, deep, and broad understanding of Western music across various genres (e.g., Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Country, Electronic, Classical, Jazz, Folk, etc.), eras, artists, albums, and their historical context. This is paramount.

• Superior Web Research Skills:

   Proven ability to efficiently and effectively find, evaluate, and synthesize information from diverse online sources (e.g., official artist websites, reputable music databases, industry news, academic resources).

• Excellent Language & Communication Skills:

• Written:

   Impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate data entries, reports, and internal communications.

• Verbal:

   Strong ability to articulate complex information, ask clarifying questions, and collaborate effectively with team members.
