Role Overview

We’re hiring a Writer – Vintage Aviation & Warbirds (3–4 years experience). You’ll cover vintage aircraft, warbirds, restorations, museums, and key aviation history stories. The role is fully remote and focused on accurate, engaging, niche reporting for a serious enthusiast audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Write news and feature articles on restorations, museum projects, airshows, and historic aircraft.
• Pitch original story ideas (profiles, history pieces, restoration deep dives, anniversary features).
• Research and fact-check all technical and historical details (types, variants, serials, units, dates).
• Conduct interviews with pilots, restorers, museum staff, and historians.
• Liaise with editors to refine storytelling, reader engagement, and headline strategies.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of professional writing experience (journalism, digital media, or niche editorial).
• Strong portfolio, ideally including aviation / military history / transportation topics.
• Solid knowledge or clear interest in vintage aviation and warbirds (WWII/Cold War-era aircraft, museums, restorations).
• Excellent written English and ability to produce clean, publish-ready copy with minimal edits.
• Familiarity with on-page SEO basics (headlines, keyword usage, meta info) is a plus.
• Comfortable working independently and hitting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with an aviation, defense, or history publication.
• Existing familiarity or connections with warbird operators, museums, or restoration shops.
• Experience covering airshows or aviation events on-site.
