Job Description

Job Purpose:To ensure smooth restaurant operations by supervising service staff, maintaining service standards, and providing guests with a memorable dining experience. The Senior Steward is responsible for assisting Captains/Managers in day-to-day service operations, training junior staff, and ensuring hygiene, safety, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:Guest Service Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner. Take orders and ensure timely service of food and beverages. Maintain high standards of customer service to achieve guest satisfaction. Handle guest complaints promptly and report to seniors if required. Supervision & Teamwork Guide and assist Stewards/Commis in their daily service duties. Ensure all service staff follow grooming, uniform, and hygiene standards. Allocate tables and responsibilities to team members during shifts. Service Operations Set up restaurant tables as per service standards (mise en place, cutlery, crockery, glassware). Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen & service staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization in service areas. Assist in billing and cash handling when required. Training & Development Train new stewards on restaurant service standards, SOPs, and guest handling. Encourage team members to maintain quality and efficiency in service. Hygiene & Safety Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Monitor proper cleaning of tables, cutlery, and service areas. Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately.
