Role Overview

We are seeking a senior VP / Head of IT to lead enterprise-wide technology across Data Science & Engineering, IT Applications, and Infrastructure & Cybersecurity for a large organization in the power / energy sector.

This is a strategic leadership role requiring proven ownership of data-driven platforms, enterprise applications, and resilient IT infrastructure in a regulated, mission-critical environment.

Core Pillars of the Role (Mandatory)1. Data Science & Data Engineering

• Lead and scale enterprise data science, data engineering, and advanced analytics platforms
• Enable business-critical use cases such as:
• Predictive maintenance
• Demand forecasting
• Asset performance optimization
• Energy efficiency and loss reduction
• Own data platforms including data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming systems
• Oversee AI/ML model deployment in partnership with business teams
• Establish strong data governance, data quality, and data security frameworks
• Must have direct leadership exposure to data-driven programs (not vendor-only oversight)

2. IT Applications

• Own the enterprise IT applications landscape, including:
• Core business applications
• ERP and operational systems
• Analytics-integrated applications
• Drive application modernization, integration, and scalability
• Ensure strong SDLC, delivery governance, and application security
• Lead large application portfolios with predictable delivery outcomes

3. Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

• Own end-to-end IT infrastructure including:
• Data centers
• Cloud and hybrid environments
• Networks, storage, DR, and end-user computing
• Lead cybersecurity strategy, including:
• Risk management
• Compliance and audits
• Incident response
• Ensure high availability, resilience, scalability, and regulatory compliance for a critical infrastructure organization

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise IT and digital strategy aligned to business and regulatory needs
• Act as a strategic technology partner to CXOs and senior business leaders
• Lead and scale large, multi-disciplinary IT teams across data, applications, infra, and security
• Manage strategic vendors, SI partners, and technology platforms
• Own IT budgets, CapEx and OpEx optimization, and ROI tracking
• Establish strong IT governance, PMO, and delivery discipline

Mandatory Experience & Skills

• 18–20 years of overall IT experience with senior leadership responsibility
• Proven leadership across:
• Data Science / Data Engineering
• IT Applications
• Infrastructure and Cybersecurity
• Experience leading enterprise-scale digital transformation programs
• Prior exposure to Power / Energy / Utilities / Heavy Infrastructure domains strongly preferred
• Strong stakeholder management experience at CXO and board levels

Location Requirement

• Base location: Gurgaon
• Candidates must be currently based in Gurgaon or willing to relocate (non-negotiable)

Education

• B.Tech / BE (Engineering) – Mandatory
• MBA or equivalent leadership qualification – Preferred
