VP D&R Engineer

As a Design & Release Engineer specializing in Body Exteriors & Interiors, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Coordinating the design and development of body Interior/Exteriors Genuine Ford Accessories, such as Canopy, Tonneau cover, Roller shutter, Bed liners, Cargo Barrier, Blind net, mat and trunk tray, Exterior plastic ornamentation parts, IP & Console, Hard trims/soft trims, Seats, Door trims, etc. - Creating and designing new accessory parts to meet all engineering requirements, timing, and completing the release including WERS & drawing. - Modifying existing PD design to meet new marketing assumptions raised by IMG individual marketing & planning team. - Executing design in CAD with the supplier or CAD team. - Taking responsibility for part development through validation and launch, including problem-solving for engineering issues. - Proactively improving design cost, quality, and functions of responsible accessories in production. - Leading and participating in cross-functional decision-making teams. - Participating in build events in different plants for different programs. - Consulting with core PD to clarify engineering constraints & requirements for VP new accessory design. - Working with Planning/PMT and PM to ensure all deliverables can meet each milestone on time. Qualifications required for this role: - D&R engineer experience in product development (VHM's), will be given preference. - MS or Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Vehicle Engineering. - Working experience in the auto industry is a plus. - Good communication skills in English for both speaking and writing. - Experience in CATIA, 3DX, and plastic/stamping tooling related background would be a plus. - Negotiation skills working with x-functional teams and outside suppliers. - Computer literacy and competency with basic Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, & Powerpoint. - Ability to work across multiple time zones to facilitate communication across Europe, NA, & IMG. - Personality type conducive to knowledge transfer across cultural boundaries & time zones.,
