Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Video Editor with 3 years of experience who can bring creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail to our video production process. In this role, you will edit a wide variety of content, including promotional videos, social media content, corporate videos, commercials, and more. You’ll work closely with our creative and production teams to turn raw footage into polished, engaging video assets that resonate with our target audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Video Editing: Edit raw footage into finished video products, ensuring seamless transitions, appropriate pacing, and a polished final cut that aligns with the project’s creative vision and objectives.
- Post-Production: Apply color correction, sound editing, visual effects (VFX), and graphics to enhance video quality. Work with music, voiceovers, and sound design to create a cohesive video experience.
- Storytelling: Utilize your understanding of storytelling to create engaging narratives through video. Craft stories that capture the audience’s attention and convey the intended message.
- Collaboration: Work closely with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project goals, client needs, and creative direction. Provide suggestions to improve the overall video product.
- Motion Graphics & Animation: Create and integrate basic motion graphics and animations when needed to enhance the visual appeal of videos.
- Asset Management: Organize and maintain video footage and project files, ensuring a smooth and efficient post-production workflow.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all video content meets technical requirements for broadcast, web, and social media platforms, including resolution, aspect ratio, and file format.
- Adaptation for Platforms: Edit videos to suit specific platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) ensuring optimal formatting and length for each medium.
- Timely Delivery: Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of video quality. Manage time effectively to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in video editing, preferably in a corporate, agency, or freelance capacity.
- Education: A degree in Film Production, Video Production, Media Arts, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is also considered.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Familiarity with After Effects for motion graphics is a plus.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing your previous video editing work, including a range of styles (e.g., commercials, corporate videos, social media content).
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for visual composition, color grading, and audio synchronization.
- Creativity & Problem Solving: Ability to think creatively and troubleshoot during the editing process. Strong storytelling skills with an understanding of pacing, rhythm, and visual structure.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and clients. Ability to understand and translate client feedback into actionable edits.
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Experience with motion graphics, 2D/3D animation, or visual effects.
- Familiarity with Adobe Audition or other audio editing software.
- Knowledge of video compression and exporting for different platforms and formats (web, mobile, broadcast, etc.).
- Understanding of social media trends and how to tailor video content for specific platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Experience with remote editing workflows or collaboration tools (e.g., Frame.io, Avid, etc.).
