Job Summary

Video Editor

Responsibilities

• Edit and produce high-quality video content for YouTube.
• Trim, cut, and arrange footage, ensuring fluid transitions, high-quality sound effects, and appropriate background music.
• Perform colour grading and correction, ensuring all content aligns with our brand’s visual style.
• Add text overlays, captions, and subtitles to make content accessible and engaging.
• Design compelling thumbnails that encourage viewers to click and engage with the video content.
• Collaborate closely with the editorial and production teams to maintain the quality and consistency of all video content.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in news, cinema, video editing techniques, and YouTube best practices.
• Ensure all video content is optimized for YouTube, focusing on creating engaging and shareable videos.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in video editing, particularly for YouTube or news/entertainment content.
• Strong understanding of video editing principles, including cutting, pacing, visual storytelling, and audio synchronization.
• Expertise in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, After Effects, etc.).
• Proven creativity in storytelling and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication and collaboration within the team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively understand and execute creative briefs.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with motion graphics and animation.
• Knowledge of SEO for YouTube and best practices for video optimization.
• Familiarity with trends in digital content strategy and video engagement.
• Previous experience in film or entertainment journalism.
