Vice Principal – Woodbridge School, Nainital(Nainital, Uttarakhand │ Full-time │ On-campus

Woodbridge School, Nainital (Est. 2002) – a reputed residential and day-boarding CBSE school nestled in the hills of Kumaon, Uttarakhand – invites applications for the post of Vice Principal.

We are looking for candidates who meet ALL the following requirements:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Post Graduate degree + B.Ed. / M.Ed. (regular mode) from recognised universities

• Minimum 8–12 years of progressive leadership experience in a reputed CBSE residential or day-boarding school

• At least 4 years in the role of Vice Principal / Academic Coordinator / Senior HOD / House Master-Mistress in a CBSE school with 500+ students.

• Proven track record of successful CBSE inspections, curriculum enhancement, faculty training, and discipline management in a residential setup.

• In-depth knowledge of CBSE bylaws, NEP 2020, and current educational practices

• Outstanding communication, conflict-resolution, and people-management skills

• Physical fitness and full willingness to reside on campus throughout the year, including night rounds and emergency duties.

• Age: Preferably below 50 years

• Professional fluency in the English and Hindi languages. Competence in written English

• Ability to counsel parents and students with patience and clarity.

Desirable:

• Prior experience in a hill-based CBSE boarding school and hostel/pastoral care for a significant time.

• Hands-on expertise with MS Office and other digital applications.

• Warm yet firm personality with high emotional intelligence and passion for child safety and values-based education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe, supervise, and evaluate teaching & non-teaching staff to achieve and maintain the highest standards of educational and residential excellence.
• Lead curriculum planning, instructional strategies, lesson-plan monitoring, and classroom observations to create a vibrant and effective learning environment.
• Design and conduct faculty professional development programmes and training workshops.
• Enforce the school's Discipline Policy and Code of Conduct, handling student behavior issues through graduated, remedial responses to foster integrity and self-reliance.
• Oversee day-to-day school and hostel operations, identify areas for improvement, and ensure smooth functioning.
• Chair or serve on Discipline Committees to investigate and resolve serious incidents (e.g., bullying, ragging, or rule violations), ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all boarders.
• Build and maintain strong rapport with students, staff, parents, CBSE officials, and external stakeholders.
• Assist the Principal in formulating and implementing academic, financial, and disciplinary policies.
• Promote an eco-friendly, stress-free, safe, and inclusive campus environment for both day scholars and boarders.
• Oversee pastoral care in hostels, including night rounds, anti-ragging enforcement, and emotional support to prevent misdemeanors and build positive school culture.
• Supervise the Estate Manager, hostel staff, security, transport, and all support personnel.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, and performance of teachers, students, and residential staff.
• Investigate and mediate disciplinary matters, coordinating with parents and counselors for restorative outcomes.
• Plan and supervise academic, co-curricular, sports, and residential life programmes.
• Initiate and integrate technology and innovative digital learning programmes across classes.
• Represent the school at seminars, conferences, and CBSE/regulatory meetings.
• Act as Principal in his/her absence and remain available on campus round-the-clock.
