As a Trainee Engineer or Experienced Pattern Shop employee, your primary responsibility will be to create sand molds for casting molten metal. This involves using an automated molding machine to compact the sand according to specifications and quality standards. You will be tasked with inspecting patterns and cores to ensure correct usage, inserting cores or chills into molds, changing patterns, and monitoring mold hardness. Additionally, your duties will include troubleshooting machinery issues, cleaning the molding machine, and adhering to safety protocols. You will also be expected to master pattern making, mounting, repairing, and inspection, as well as using quality measuring tools such as height gauge, calipers, micrometer, and bevel protector. A high school diploma or GED is required for this role, along with proven experience as a Pattern Maker or in a similar design-related position. Proficiency in pattern making equipment, modern and traditional artworks, and quality measuring tools is essential. Strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are also necessary. In this role, you will operate various machinery, design and maintain tooling, and read blueprints for precision tooling production. Your support in understanding the foundry process and following standard work procedures will be crucial. As a member of the team, you are expected to have a strong safety record, exhibit good mechanical comprehension, and work collaboratively with different departments within the organization. The ideal candidate should have a technical diploma or equivalent, with experience in the foundry being a plus. Whether you are a fresher or an experienced professional, your creativity, problem-solving skills, work ethic, and ability to work for 12-hour shifts are highly valued. Proficiency in computer software, mathematical skills, and the ability to read technical diagrams are also important qualifications for this role. Role & responsibilities Perform in-process and final inspection of aerospace machined components on the production line. Use precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMMs to verify dimensional accuracy. Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and generate reports per AS9102/AS9100 standards. Interpret and inspect parts using engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions .
