Job Description – Vanaspati Operator

Position: Operator (2 Positions)
Department: Vanaspati Plant
Location: [ Gandhidham / Gujarat]
Reporting To: Shift Engineer / Vanaspati In-Charge

Qualification:

• ITI / Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 2–5 Years of hands-on experience in Vanaspati (Hydrogenation) Process Operations within an Edible Oil Refinery or related industry

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor Vanaspati plant operations, including hydrogenation, filtration, and chilling processes.
• Control and record key process parameters such as temperature, pressure, hydrogen flow, and agitation speed.
• Maintain accurate log sheets and ensure the smooth running of equipment during the shift.
• Ensure compliance with process safety, handling of hydrogen gas systems, and pressure vessels.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) department for product sampling, testing, and quality approval.
• Communicate with Maintenance and Utility teams to address any mechanical or process issues.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to all safety, environmental, and hygiene standards.
• Assist during plant startup, shutdown, and changeover operations.
• Contribute to achieving production targets and minimizing process losses.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the Vanaspati plant area.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of hydrogenation process and operation of filters, heat exchangers, and vacuum systems.
• Ability to read process data and respond quickly to deviations.
• Understanding of plant safety protocols, especially hydrogen handling.
• Team-oriented approach with strong coordination and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of process control systems and instrumentation readings.

Employment Type:

• Full-Time / Permanent

Compensation:

• ₹30,000–₹45,000 per month depending on experience
