Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
US Payroll Manager
with strong, hands-on US payroll process expertise and proven team and client management skills. The role requires deep involvement in payroll operations, process governance, stakeholder communication, and team leadership for US clients. This is a critical, night-shift, office-based role supporting US business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end US payroll processing for multiple US clients with high accuracy and compliance.
- Handle hard-core payroll operations, including payroll validations, audits, reconciliations, and statutory adherence.
- Lead, mentor, and manage payroll teams; ensure productivity, quality, and SLA adherence.
- Act as the primary point of contact for US clients, handling escalations, process discussions, and service reviews.
- Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Drive process improvements, efficiency initiatives, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams (HR, Finance, Compliance, Implementation).
- Prepare and present payroll MIS, reports, and dashboards to leadership.
- Support payroll implementations, transitions, and new client onboarding as required.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (mandatory)

- Deep US Payroll process knowledge with hands-on exposure
- Strong team handling and people management skills
- Proven client handling and stakeholder management experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, night-shift environment
- High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Mandatory Requirements
- 1216 years of relevant US payroll experience
- Prior experience working in US day shift / India night shift
- Candidates must be based in Chennai only
- Willingness to work from office (5 days a week)
- Immediate joiners or candidates with very short notice period
- Must be willing to attend late-evening interviews
