Responsibilities:

• Drive the lighting pipeline

  for high-quality real-time and offline renders.  
• Set up and optimize

  lighting in Unreal Engine

  for cinematic and production-quality output.  
• Collaborate across departments (modeling, grooming, FX, animation, compositing) to ensure smooth pipeline integration.  
• Implement and troubleshoot

  hair/fur simulation in Unreal

  (using Groom system, Alembic caches, or other workflows). 
• Develop and maintain

  technical lighting/shading workflows

  that balance quality and performance.   
• Create tools, scripts, and blueprints to improve the lighting and rendering workflow inside Unreal.
• Act as a bridge between artists and technical teams, resolving issues quickly.
• Mentor junior lighting and technical artists.

Requirements:

• 4+ years in lighting for animation, film, or real-time projects.

• Strong portfolio showing advanced lightingwork in Unreal Engine

• Deep understanding of the

  full 3Dproduction pipeline

  .       
• Proven experience in

  hair/fur simulationworkflows

  (XGen, Houdini Groom, Ornatrix, or Unreal Groom).    
• Technical knowledge of Unreal Engine’s rendering pipeline (Lumen, Nanite, Sequencer, Groom system).      
• Proficiency in industry-standard DCC tools (Maya, Houdini, Blender, Katana, etc.).
• Strong understanding of

  PBR shading, materials, and lookdev

  .
• Scripting/Blueprint experience (Python, MEL, Unreal Blueprints).
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to troubleshoot performance and rendering issues.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with pipeline/tool development

  in Unreal.
• Familiarity with version control systems(Perforce, Git).
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
