Unreal Lighting Artist

You will be responsible for driving the lighting pipeline for high-quality real-time and offline renders. This includes setting up and optimizing lighting in Unreal Engine for cinematic and production-quality output. You will collaborate across departments such as modeling, grooming, FX, animation, and compositing to ensure smooth pipeline integration. Additionally, you will implement and troubleshoot hair/fur simulation in Unreal using various workflows. It is essential to develop and maintain technical lighting/shading workflows that balance quality and performance. You will also be creating tools, scripts, and blueprints to enhance the lighting and rendering workflow inside Unreal. Acting as a bridge between artists and technical teams to resolve issues quickly and mentoring junior lighting and technical artists will also be part of your responsibilities. Qualifications required for this role include having at least 4 years of experience in lighting for animation, film, or real-time projects. A strong portfolio showcasing advanced lighting work in Unreal Engine is necessary. A deep understanding of the full 3D production pipeline and proven experience in hair/fur simulation workflows are essential. Technical knowledge of Unreal Engine's rendering pipeline, proficiency in industry-standard DCC tools, a strong grasp of PBR shading, materials, and lookdev, as well as scripting/blueprint experience are also required. Having a problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot performance and rendering issues is crucial for this role. In addition to the requirements, it would be nice to have experience with pipeline/tool development in Unreal, familiarity with version control systems like Perforce and Git, and supervisory or team leadership experience.,
