Job Description

  • The

    Business Analyst

    will support the Delivery Excellence Lead and the Portfolio Improvement Lead in driving simplification, standardization, and efficiency across the D&T delivery landscape. This role focuses on translating strategic improvement opportunities into actionable insights and executable requirements bridging process, data, and tooling enablement. The individual will partner with delivery teams, technical stakeholders to define requirements, enhance portfolio data quality, and enable decision-making through analytics and process design.

Accountabilities

  • Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, functional and non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
  • Translate business requirements into functionality and assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impact of various solution options.
  • Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information. Keep updated to align the solution over project lifecycle.
  • Traceability of business requirements into solution design to confirm linkage of business functionality/expectations in any new proposed solution.
  • Interact with software suppliers, designers, and developers to understand software limitations, deliver elements of system and database design and ensure that business requirements and use cases are handled.
  • Create acceptance criteria and validate the solutions through coordinating testing.
  • Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding, and prioritization.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities on projects within agreed parameters of cost, time, and quality.
  • Understand and stay abreast with relevant architectures and technologies related to the business area. Research potential solutions and innovate ideas. Guide and manage interactions with technology vendors.
  • Lead stakeholder management activities including facilitation of large design sessions.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Support long term business strategic goals through proposing improvements in costs, value, process, data, technology, and functionality.
  • Guide business stakeholders to gain acceptance/ sign off despite competing objectives.
  • Describe Technology in terms easily understood by business customers and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome. Adjust expectations in accordance with changes in scope.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.
  • Delivery & Portfolio Analytics:

  • Partner with the Delivery Excellence and Portfolio Improvement leads to analyse portfolio performance, identify trends, and provide data-backed insights for governance and delivery improvements.
  • Consolidate project and resourcing data across tools and functions to enable portfolio visibility and performance tracking.
  • Process Mapping & Continuous Improvement:

  • Support in documenting current delivery processes, identifying pain points, and designing streamlined, standardized workflows across delivery functions.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to drive adoption of improved processes and performance frameworks.
  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation:

  • Define detailed business, functional, and technical requirements for tooling and automation initiatives in collaboration with process experts and technical teams.
  • Develop requirement specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to enable efficient delivery of process and tooling enhancements.
  • Data Quality & Governance:

  • Assess and enhance the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of delivery and resourcing data.
  • Define data validation rules and collaborate with stakeholders to improve data governance maturity.
  • Tooling & Enablement:

  • Partner with PPM tooling teams to support dashboard optimization, workflow automation, and portfolio reporting enhancements.
  • Conduct user testing, feedback collection, and adoption monitoring for new tool capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders including PMO, Finance, and Delivery Leads to ensure alignment on data standards, reporting requirements, and process changes.
  • Maintain effective communication channels between business users and technical teams.
  • Change Enablement:

  • Contribute to change management and communication plans to ensure effective rollout of new processes and tools.
  • Support the delivery of training, playbooks, and documentation to embed continuous improvement practices.

Skills and requirements

  • Must have experience and understanding of process flows and process design.
  • Good understanding and experience of working in Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
  • Understanding of system engineering concepts and data/ process analysis and modeling.
  • Ability to take systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pay close attention to detail.
  • Experience developing cost/benefit analysis and building business cases.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and clearly.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly (EU hours) is needed.
  • Experience in BA tools like MS Visio, Figma, Azure DevOps
  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or delivery excellence roles within large, matrixed, or consulting organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience in interpreting complex delivery and resource data.
  • Solid understanding of program/project management lifecycles, delivery frameworks, and portfolio governance principles.
  • Hands-on experience in defining and documenting business and technical requirements for process or tooling initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Planview, or Clarity).
  • Familiarity with Lean, Agile, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, supporting multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.

Experience:

  • 7-8 years of experience in business analysis
  • Education

    :
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA certifications preferred.
  • Agile certifications/ trainings preferred.
