Job Description

Primary Transportation will be responsible for managing and optimizing the primary transportation operations within the FMCG and Beverages sectors. This role involves overseeing the movement of goods from manufacturing plants to distribution centers & customers ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Transportation Planning: Develop and execute transportation plans for the efficient movement of goods from plants to distribution centers. Coordinate with production, planning, and warehousing teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery. Optimize route planning and load consolidation to minimize transportation costs Vendor Management: Manage relationships with transporters and logistics service providers. Monitor transporter performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Operational Oversight: Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery. Handle any operational issues, including delays, damages, or discrepancies in transit. Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements during transportation. Cost Control and Budgeting: Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings. Assist in the preparation of transportation budgets and forecasts. Analyze transportation expenses and implement cost reduction initiatives. Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation efficiency, cost, and service quality. Prepare regular reports on transportation performance and present findings to senior management. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between internal teams (production, warehousing, and sales) and external partners (transporters and customers). Provide regular updates on shipment status and address any transportation-related queries. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce costs. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in transportation management. Qualifications: Bachelors degree 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, preferably within the FMCG or Beverages sector. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Key Competencies: Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders. Proactive approach to identifying and solving transportation challenges. Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
