Job Summary:

The Driver Trainer is responsible for training, assessing, and mentoring drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and professional driving standards. The role involves implementing driver training programs, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with company and road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training & Development:

    • Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions for new and existing drivers.
    • Teach safe driving techniques, defensive driving, and vehicle handling skills.
    • Provide refresher training to improve driver efficiency and safety awareness.
  2. Assessment & Evaluation:

    • Evaluate driver performance through on-road assessments and classroom sessions.
    • Identify skill gaps and recommend corrective actions.
    • Monitor driver behavior using telematics or trip data reports.
  3. Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure all drivers comply with company policies, traffic laws, and safety standards.
    • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and incident reviews.
    • Maintain records of training, attendance, and performance reports.
  4. Vehicle & Operational Support:

    • Educate drivers on vehicle maintenance checks and fuel-efficient driving practices.
    • Coordinate with the fleet team for vehicle inspections and upkeep.
  5. Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed training logs and performance reports.
    • Provide regular feedback to management on driver performance and training outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum

    10th pass / Diploma

    (preferred background in automobile or transport).
  • Valid

    Commercial Driving License (LMV/HMV)

    .
  • Minimum

    57 years

    of driving experience, including

    2+ years

    in a trainer or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and vehicle operations.
  • Good communication and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage field training and travel as required.
