Job Title: Trainer - Bar Bender

Location: All Districts of Tamil Nadu

Job Description:

The Bar Bender Trainer will be responsible for imparting theoretical and practical training to students/trainees under various skill development programs. The trainer should have strong knowledge of bar bending, steel reinforcement techniques, construction site safety, and related practices, ensuring that trainees acquire both technical and employability skills aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct classroom and practical training sessions on bar bending, steel reinforcement, and structural detailing.
• Demonstrate safe and efficient methods of cutting, bending, and fixing steel bars as per drawings.
• Train candidates in interpretation of construction drawings and bar bending schedules.
• Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety norms at all times during training.
• Assess trainee performance through assignments, practical tests, and viva.
• Maintain training records, attendance, and progress reports of trainees.
• Support placement activities by preparing students for employment in the construction sector.
• Update training methodologies and tools in line with Sector Skill Council (SSC) and industry guidelines.
• Coordinate with project teams, assessors, and employers for smooth execution of training programs.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification:

• ITI / Diploma in Civil Engineering OR Equivalent qualification in construction trades.

Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience in bar bending / reinforcement work at construction sites.
• Prior experience as a trainer will be an added advantage.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Certified Trainer by Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI) or equivalent.
• Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, bar bending schedules, and reinforcement practices.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and simple manner.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Successful completion of batches with high trainee attendance and pass percentage.
• Positive feedback from trainees and employers.
• Compliance with training quality standards as per norms.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to travel for project-related assignments.
• Flexibility to work with different batches and schedules.
• Commitment to skill development and capacity building.
