Job Description

Location: Workshop / Fabrication Unit (Padavala-Rajkot).

To manage, control, issue, and maintain all tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and consumables required for production activities, ensuring tool availability, proper storage, accountability, and cost control.

1. Tool Receipt & Storage

  • Receive tools, inserts, cutters, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and consumables from suppliers.
  • Verify quantity, specification, and condition against purchase documents.
  • Properly tag, store, and arrange tools as per category and usage.

2. Tool Issue & Return Control

  • Issue tools to operators, machinists, welders, and maintenance staff against proper requisition.
  • Maintain issue–return records (manual or ERP system).
  • Ensure timely return of tools after use and track damaged/lost tools.

3. Inventory Management

  • Maintain minimum stock levels (Min–Max) for critical tools and consumables.
  • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly physical stock checks.
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged tools.

4. Tool Identification & Traceability

  • Maintain tool ID, tool life records, and usage history where applicable (CNC tools, inserts).
  • Monitor tool wear and recommend regrinding/replacement.

5. Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, CNC, and Purchase departments for tool requirements.
  • Raise tool requisitions and follow up on procurement status.
  • Support tool changeovers and urgent production needs.

6. Tool Maintenance & Housekeeping

  • Ensure proper care, cleaning, and handling of tools.
  • Maintain 5S standards within the tooling store.
  • Arrange calibration of gauges and measuring instruments as per schedule.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records such as stock register, tool issue register, calibration log, breakage report.
  • Prepare periodic inventory and tool consumption reports.

8. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow safety guidelines while handling sharp and heavy tools.
  • Ensure safe storage of hazardous tooling items.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • ITI / Diploma / Graduate (Mechanical preferred).
  • 1–5 years experience as Store Keeper / Tool Crib Attendant in manufacturing or fabrication unit.
  • Knowledge of CNC tools, cutting tools, inserts, jigs, fixtures, gauges.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel / ERP / Inventory software).
  • Good record-keeping and organizational skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
