Job Description

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Geography

In This Role, You Will:
  • Design Engaging Lessons:

    Plan and deliver comprehensive lesson plans for middle and secondary school students (classes 6–8) in alignment with the CISCE curriculum.
  • Deliver Subject Content:

    Teach core geography topics—including physical geography, human geography, environmental studies, and map work—through a mix of traditional and digital methods.
  • Integrate Technology:

    Use digital tools such as interactive maps, GIS applications, multimedia presentations, and virtual field trips to make geography more immersive and relatable.
  • Assess Student Progress:

    Create a variety of assessments—quizzes, projects, assignments, and presentations—to evaluate student learning and provide constructive feedback using digital platforms.
  • Maintain Records:

    Keep accurate, up-to-date academic records using school-provided digital systems and regularly communicate student progress with parents.
  • Encourage Interdisciplinary Learning:

    Collaborate with other subject teachers to plan projects that integrate geography with science, history, and environmental education.
  • Foster a Positive Environment:

    Create a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, global awareness, and responsible citizenship.
  • Professional Development:

    Actively participate in school workshops, training programs, and professional learning opportunities to stay current with modern teaching strategies and technological innovations.
To Be Successful in This Role, Candidates Should Possess:
  • Educational Qualification:

    A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, with B.Ed.
  • Experience:

    2–3 years of teaching experience at the middle or secondary school level, preferably in CISCE/CBSE schools with a focus on modern pedagogy and technology integration.
  • Technical Proficiency:

    Competence in using digital tools for teaching, such as GIS software, online learning platforms, interactive presentations, and educational apps.
  • Communication Skills:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Student-Centered Approach:

    Passion for mentoring adolescents, encouraging inquiry-based learning, and nurturing academic as well as personal growth.
  • Interpersonal Skills:

    The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, engage positively with students, and communicate effectively with parents.
