Role Overview

HPC Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain HPC clusters, storage, and networking components
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues
• Manage workload schedulers (e.g., SLURM, PBS, LSF)
• Implement and oversee backup, recovery, and security protocols
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and IT teams to optimize usage
• Automate system tasks using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
• Maintain technical documentation and best practices
• Stay current with the latest in HPC technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience with Linux/Unix systems and HPC cluster administration
• Strong knowledge of workload managers (SLURM, PBS, LSF, etc.)
• Experience with networking and storage in HPC environments
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation
• Familiarity with system monitoring and security best practices
• Bonus: Experience with cloud-based HPC platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
