Job Description

As a Technical Writer, you will play a vital role in creating comprehensive and user-friendly documentation encompassing manuals, guides, FAQs, API documentation, and other technical content. Your primary objective will be to deliver high-quality documentation that adds value to the success of our products. This entails close collaboration with various stakeholders like product managers, developers, and designers to ensure that complex technical information is presented in a clear and understandable manner for users with varying levels of technical expertise. Your key responsibilities will include developing, writing, and maintaining a range of technical documents such as user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, FAQs, and online help content. To achieve this, you will need to liaise with software developers, engineers, QA teams, and product managers to grasp technical requirements and transform them into easily digestible documentation. Structuring the information logically and enhancing readability will be crucial, along with conducting thorough research to ensure accuracy and completeness by incorporating data from diverse sources. Visual aids like screenshots, diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics will be essential tools to enhance the documentation's effectiveness. Consistency in terminology, tone, and style across all documentation is paramount. Collaborating with UX/UI designers to optimize user experience through clear and concise content will be part of your role. You will also be responsible for reviewing and updating existing documentation based on product modifications, customer feedback, and evolving industry trends. Managing document versions effectively through a repository system and assisting in creating release notes, internal knowledge base articles, and training materials are additional tasks you will undertake. To qualify for this role, you should ideally possess a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a B. Tech qualification. A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar capacity is required. Your ability to simplify complex technical concepts into user-friendly content is crucial. Proficiency in using documentation tools like Markdown, Confluence, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and DITA XML is essential. Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger, Postman, or OpenAPI, along with basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and scripting, will be advantageous. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and experience with Agile teams and software development processes are also necessary. Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git is a plus. Desirable skills for this role include experience with CMS (Content Management Systems), knowledge of software development, coding, or scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.), and familiarity with AI-driven content generation tools. This position involves an onsite requirement at either the Calicut or Trivandrum offices and collaboration with cross-functional teams comprising developers, product managers, and designers.,
