Role Description

The Technical Trainer will play a key role in raising the technical standards of our diagnostic labs. This role focuses on building structured training programs, creating practical learning content, and delivering sessions. The trainer will ensure our teams are up to speed with best practices, quality requirements, and evolving diagnostic techniques, strengthening both compliance and performance across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement training programs and content for lab staff in diagnostics.

• Deliver training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and accuracy.

• Embed quality assurance principles and compliance requirements within all training modules.

• Work with teams across functions to identify training needs and skill gaps.

• Develop and manage digital learning resources and platforms for scalable delivery.

• Track, evaluate, and report on training effectiveness and staff progress.

• Ensure staff receive refresher training aligned with updated protocols and best practices.

• Support compliance with internal audits and accreditation requirements through effective training coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Lab Technology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in training, quality assurance, or lab operations within diagnostics/healthcare.

• Familiarity with ISO 15189, NABL accreditation, and QA/QC processes.

• Proven ability to design and deliver technical training programs.

• Solid understanding of diagnostic technologies, lab processes, and quality systems.

Skills

• Strong grasp of quality assurance and diagnostic lab practices.

• Clear and engaging communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to create structured, practical training content (manuals, SOPs, e-learning modules).

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PPT.

• Comfort with digital learning tools and platforms.

• Organised, detail-oriented, with the ability to measure training outcomes.
