Technical Manager

Job description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Technical Manager to lead our mobile application development initiatives across iOS and Android platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with people leadership, architectural ownership, and delivery accountability. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, and cloud/DevOps functions to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality mobile solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture of mobile applications across native and cross platform stacks.

• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable mobile solutions using modern design patterns and frameworks (MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).

• Review and approve technical designs, architecture diagrams, and solution approaches.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, performance, security, and best practices.

• Drive technology decisions, framework selection, and long-term platform strategy.

2. Mobile Technology Expertise

• Provide deep technical guidance across:

• Native: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android), Java

• Cross-platform: Flutter, React Native, Xamarin

• Supporting languages & tools: JavaScript, C#, REST/GraphQL APIs

• Ensure effective single codebase strategies for cross-platform development while maintaining platform-specific optimizations.

• Guide integration with backend systems, third-party SDKs, and mobile services.

3. Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of iOS, Android, and cross-platform developers.

• Provide hands-on technical mentoring and conduct regular design reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.

• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development of technical team members.

4. Project Delivery & Execution

• Own project estimation, planning, and execution, ensuring predictable delivery of milestones.

• Manage deliverables, timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple mobile initiatives.

• Work closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure effective Agile/Scrum execution.

• Ensure high quality through testing strategies, automation, and release management.

5. Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as a key technical liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams.

• Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and delivery plans.

• Provide technical inputs during requirement discovery, feasibility analysis, and roadmap planning.

• Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs effectively to senior stakeholders. 6. Cloud, DevOps & Security

• Leverage cloud platforms (AWS preferred) for mobile backend integrations, scalability, and performance.

• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications (build, test, release automation).

• Implement DevOps best practices including version control, branching strategies, and automated testing.

• Ensure strong security practices, including secure authentication, data protection, encryption, and compliance with mobile security standards (OWASP, etc.).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in mobile application development across iOS and Android.

• Hands-on experience with Swift, Kotlin, Java, and at least one cross-platform framework (Flutter, React Native, Xamarin).

• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, performance optimization, and app lifecycle management.

• Experience with RESTful APIs, backend integration, and mobile SDKs.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps tools, and automation.

• Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) and mobile security best practices.

Leadership & Management Skills

• Proven experience leading mobile development teams in a technical management or lead role.

• Strong ability to mentor developers, review code, and drive technical excellence.

• Experience in project estimation, planning, and delivery management. • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Preferred / Added Advantages

• Experience with large-scale or enterprise mobile applications.

• Exposure to microservices, serverless, or cloud-native architectures.

• Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments.
