Technical Expert - Finance Systems (SAP)

Overview

We are looking for a senior Technical Expert to lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of finance applications across SAP and non-SAP platforms. This global role involves managing multiple projects, driving system connectivity, and supporting finance transformation initiatives. It combines technical expertise, project leadership, and vendor management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical implementation of SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI module) and related tools such as Blackline and GLSU.
• Manage integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications, including SAC and other finance tools.
• Oversee upgrades, database migrations, and connectivity projects between systems.
• Act as a techno-functional SME throughout project lifecycles: blueprint, build, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and implementation playbooks.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and license utilization for applications in scope.
• Support global financial reporting and close processes, resolving technical issues promptly.
• Lead incident resolution and provide technical guidance across multiple projects.
• Work with external partners and internal teams to ensure cost-effective, maintainable solutions.

Requirements:

• 12-15 years of experience in finance systems implementation and integration.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI module) and GLSU; experience with SAP ECC is a plus.
• Familiarity with Blackline (preferred) and SAC for analytics and reporting.
• Proven experience managing multiple integration projects, upgrades, and database migrations.
• Ability to handle technical discussions with vendors and manage contracts effectively.
• Techno-functional background with strong understanding of finance processes and system design.
• Excellent communication skills for global stakeholder engagement (L5/L6 level).
• Leadership experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Flexible to work across global time zones (primarily UK hours).
• Growth mindset with ability to leverage technology for process improvement.
