About the Role

We're building PayEzy Pro - a premium HR and payroll SaaS platform launching in 2026. We need an experienced Technical Architect to design the foundation for our microservices-based system before development begins in January.

This is a critical foundational role. You'll define the technical blueprint that enables our platform to scale from launch while maintaining enterprise-grade quality and UK regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

Design the complete technical architecture for five independent microservices (Recruit, Onboard, Rota, HR, Payroll) that work seamlessly together. Create comprehensive API specifications that enable each module to function independently or as part of the complete platform. Define database schemas optimized for performance, scalability, and data integrity across all modules.

Establish security and compliance frameworks meeting HMRC, GDPR, and UK employment law requirements. Plan the infrastructure and deployment strategy for reliable, scalable operations. Document architectural decisions and technical standards for the development team. Collaborate with our UI/UX Designer to ensure technical feasibility of design requirements.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience architecting multi-tenant SaaS platforms, preferably in HR/payroll or fintech domains. Deep expertise in microservices architecture, API design, and database modeling. Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements (HMRC integration, GDPR, data security). Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern deployment practices.

Track record of designing systems that scale from startup to enterprise. Excellent documentation skills - you'll create the technical blueprint others will build from. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

What Success Looks Like

By end of February 2026, we'll have complete technical architecture documentation, detailed API specifications for all five modules, comprehensive database schemas ready for implementation, security and compliance framework established, and infrastructure plan ready for development team handoff.
