Technical Accounting Director

As a Director - Technical Accounting at HARMAN Corporate, you will play a crucial role in interpreting and applying complex accounting standards such as IFRS and K-IFRS throughout the organization. Your expertise will be leveraged as you serve as a key resource on accounting policy, assist in financial reporting, and engage with various teams in strategic endeavors including M&A activities. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing insightful technical accounting advice on intricate transactions such as revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, and impairments. - Conducting in-depth analyses of challenging accounting issues and delivering well-documented guidance consistent with IFRS and other pertinent standards. - Supporting accounting processes related to M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, and restructurings, assessing the accounting implications of business combinations, goodwill, and intangible assets, and developing and updating accounting policy documentation. To excel in this position, you are expected to have: - Over 15 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, audit, or specialized accounting functions. - Profound knowledge of accounting principles and international standards, particularly in the context of M&A transactions. - Proficiency in applying IFRS and/or US GAAP to practical business scenarios, coupled with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, keen attention to detail, and hands-on experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Workday. - Familiarity with SAP FI/CO is highly desirable, as well as expertise in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Moreover, possessing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent, would be advantageous. Experience in the automotive or automotive supplier industry, adept project management skills, familiarity with Financial Shared Services models, proficiency in reporting tools like Qlik, exposure to external audit practices, ESG reporting experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are considered additional strengths.
