Job Description

As a Process Document Specialist, you will create high-quality technical documentation that contributes to the overall success of our software products. You will work closely with developers, product managers, quality assurance, and customer support to gather information and produce clear, concise, and accurate content for a variety of audiences, including end-users and developers.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation creation

    : Research, write, and edit a wide range of content, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, online help, release notes, and tutorials.
  • Cross-functional collaboration

    : Work closely with product and engineering teams to understand product functionality, gather documentation requirements, and stay up-to-date with new features and releases.
  • Audience analysis

    : Analyse the needs of different target audiences (e.g., technical vs. non-technical) and tailor content to be easily understood and highly usable.
  • Content strategy

    : Help plan, develop, and maintain the products overall information architecture and content strategy for documentation. Identify opportunities for content reuse and single-sourcing.
  • Quality assurance

    : Edit and proofread documentation to ensure it meets quality standards for consistency, grammar, style, and accuracy.
  • Content maintenance

    : Continuously update and revise existing content to reflect changes and improvements in the software.
  • User feedback

    : Incorporate user feedback from sources like customer support tickets and user analytics to improve the effectiveness of documentation.
  • Media development

    : Create visual aids such as diagrams, screenshots, and videos to supplement written content.
  • Agile workflow

    : Participate in an agile software development lifecycle and related meetings, such as daily scrums.

Requirements:

  • Education

    : Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as English, Communications, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience

    : Proven 4 to 6 experience writing technical documentation for a software product.
  • Writing skills

    : Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of grammar and style.
  • Technical aptitude

    : Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, easy-to-understand content for various audiences.

Tool proficiency

: Strong working knowledge of documentation tools and software, which may include:
  • Content creation

    : Confluence, Notion, MadCap Flare
  • Project management

    : Jira
  • Markup/code

    : HTML, Markdown, XML
  • Attention to detail

    : Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Collaboration and independence

    : Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability

    : Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
