Sr. Manager - Strategy and Projects, will be responsible to drive strategic initiatives, focused on profitable growth for Cipla in Europe and Emerging Markets. This role will support the Head Strategy, Projects, Licensing & M&A, as well as the EMEU Leadership team, to help achieve mid to long term strategic objectives. The role will lead cross-functional high-impact projects, developing new and actionable insights into industry/competitive dynamics, and evaluate newer opportunities / models to accelerate growth for International markets at Cipla.
I. Strategy :Mid to long term strategy and newer areas for Cipla to grow profitably in International markets. Analyse topics such as new market opportunities, strategic initiatives, business development, competitive landscape, and cross-business segment opportunities 3 year growth plan: Cipla EMEUs 3-5 year growth trajectory, with a detailed market plan for the Top 5-10 markets • The Big Picture: Identify and evaluate opportunities which could significantly impact Ciplas growth and profitability in International markets. Identify areas of concern across regions and strategically important focus areas thereby recommending actions for sustainable and profitable growth • Implementation: Oversee the implementation of the corporate strategy as well as the business unit / horizontal specific strategy across different geographies to ensure continued profitability in line with the envisaged organizational goals and targets • External benchmarking: Outside-in view on the best practices. Conduct target assessment to develop deeper perspective(s). Provide support as an internal consultant to function and regional business heads, by reviewing and recommending changes to existing functional strategies • Insights from Consultants /experts: Collaborate with industry experts/ consultants to understand the trends, best practices and gain insights within the pharma and allied industries (FMCG, health-tech, Wellness etc.)
II. Projects and Transformational Initiatives
Own and drive critical projects at EM&EU and further collaborate with Central/ Global team, as required. • Execution and tracking of key projects. Identify developmental needs of businesses/functional teams and facilitate capacity building. Partner with functional teams on special projects to identify new opportunities/ideas, work with external consultants, monitor project progress, debottleneck critical issues, manage cross-functional stakeholders and create transparency • Piloting strategic imperatives: Implementation of agreed ‘ideas’ / Proof-of-concept testing
III. New initiatives New Opportunities: Collaborate with Business team to explore newer markets, new opportunities in an existing market, new therapy/ product segments etc. • Explore newer revenue models and propel faster, agile GTM approach • Evaluate and map new opportunities in each market / regions for a meaningful ‘play’ in newer segments like OTC, diagnostic etc.
IV. Governance oversight of various initiatives, ensuring implementation Support the Region Head, Head Business Strategy and the ILT Leadership team for monthly / quarterly governance forums and track the actions / projects on an ongoing basis • Engage with the CEO, Head Business Strategy, and the Leadership team to define the priorities for the given month/ quarter. Track the progress of these work streams and further support in resolving, as required
MBA from a reputed institute
• 8-15 years of experience with exposure to Corporate strategy and Consulting, for healthcare and Pharma companies
• Sound analytical skills with good hands-on knowledge on excel
• Good inter-personal and influencing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
