Role & responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise production activities during the shift to ensure adherence to production schedules and targets.
• Monitor machine operators and provide guidance on operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Analyze OEE metrics to enhance equipment efficiency and Optimize production processes to minimize downtime and maximize machine utilization.
• Conduct regular inspections of production equipment to ensure proper functioning and initiate maintenance or repairs as needed.
• Manage resources effectively, including materials, manpower, and equipment, to optimize production efficiency.
• Lead and enforce 5S practices to maintain a clean and efficient workplace.
• Monitor and reduce scrap generated during production and Implement strategies to improve material utilization and minimize waste.
• Implement and enforce safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with Quality Control and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues and ensure product quality.
• Prepare shift reports detailing production performance, issues encountered, and actions taken for management review.
• Train and develop machine operators on production processes, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Preferred candidate profile

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing, preferably in cell manufacturing or related industries.
• Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of machine operators.
• Problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills to address production issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with team members, management, and other departments.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices is desirable.

Relevant Experience (If Applicable)

• Production Planning and Optimization: Workshops on production scheduling and workflow optimization.
• Data Analysis and MIS: Training in data analysis for monitoring production metrics.
• Technical Skills Development: Courses on machinery operation and maintenance.
• Team Building and Motivation: Programs on fostering teamwork and motivating teams.
• Basics of Cell Manufacturing: Introduction to principles and processes specific to cell manufacturing
• Safety Training: Understanding safety protocols and practices relevant to manufacturing environments.
• Quality Control: Training in quality assurance methods and compliance with standards.
• Lean Principles: Introduction to Lean Manufacturing principles for process optimization.
• On-the-Job Training: Practical experience under supervision to apply learned skills effectively.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

B.sc or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Automation Chemical Engineering) preferred.

Years of Experience: Proven experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory.
