Team Lead- Eplan Electrical & Controls Design

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled TEAM LEAD for our Eplan Hardware Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in engineering, designing, and drafting PLC-based control and automation systems for automotive BIW (Body in White) applications and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) applications. This is a leadership position, and the selected individual will be responsible for leading a team of 8-10 junior designers while managing client and internal communication.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage a team of 8-10 junior designers in the development of PLC-based control and automation systems.

- Design and engineer control diagrams using Siemens, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi PLCs for automotive BIW and SPM applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of design projects, meeting deadlines and quality standards.

- Oversee the drafting of electrical schematics, control diagrams, and system documentation.

- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in control systems design and automation.

- Handle communication with customers to understand requirements, discuss project milestones, and deliver on customer expectations.

- Facilitate internal communication to ensure the flow of information between design teams, project managers, and other departments.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, ensuring their professional growth and adherence to project timelines.

- Review and validate designs, resolving any technical issues that may arise during project execution.

- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and documentation.

- Stay updated on the latest trends in PLC control systems and automation technologies, implementing new tools and methods where applicable.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in engineering, designing, and drafting PLC-based control and automation systems, specifically for automotive BIW and SPM applications.

- Extensive experience preparing control diagrams with Siemens, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi PLCs.

- Strong expertise in Eplan software for electrical schematics and control system design.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of designers in a technical environment.

- Experience in handling customer communication, understanding requirements, and providing effective project updates.

- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients.
