Tableau Server Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Server Management:

  Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, patching, and system monitoring.

• Performance Optimization:

  Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  

• Security & Compliance:

  Apply and enforce security best practices, ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulations.
  

• Backup & Recovery:

  Manage backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
  

• Integration:

  Work with IT teams to integrate Tableau Server with databases and external systems, ensuring smooth data connectivity.
  

• Documentation & Training:

  Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and best practices. Provide training/support to end-users and stakeholders.
  

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with

  Tableau Server administration

  (installation, upgrades, monitoring, scaling, troubleshooting).
  
• Strong knowledge of

  Linux networking, database connectivity, and system integration

  .
  
• Experience in

  user management, permissions, and data governance compliance

  .
  
• Proficiency in

  performance tuning, optimization, and backup/recovery planning

  .
  
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  

Good to Have (Optional Skills)

• Tableau Server Certified Professional

  certification.
  
• Experience with

  Tableau Desktop

  and

  Tableau Online

  .
  
• Knowledge of reporting and data visualization best practices.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• Minimum of

  5+ years of relevant Tableau Server Administration experience
