Role purpose
To provide Level 1 technical support and maintenance for campus IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. The role focuses on installing and configuring laptops, desktops, operating systems, and Microsoft products, troubleshooting issues, maintaining security standards, and delivering end-user training. Additionally, the position involves monitoring system performance, resolving user tickets within SLA, supporting meeting room setups, managing IT assets, and liaising with vendors for infrastructure issues. The role also requires familiarity with Gen AI tools (e.g., Copilot, GPT, Gemini) and adherence to IT security policies.
Key accountabilities
- Hardware & Software Support
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and scanners.
- Manage installation and configuration of Windows/Linux operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Network & Server Management
- Basic troubleshooting of LAN/WAN networks.
- Manage DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
- Support Linux-based servers.
- End-User Support
- Provide L1/L2 support for technical issues via floor, remote, and call support.
- Train end-users on hardware and software products.
- Meeting Room & Device Setup
- Configure and support iPads, iPhones, and video conferencing equipment.
- Ensure smooth functioning of meeting rooms.
- Asset & Security Management
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory.
- Follow IT security policies and ensure compliance.
- Vendor Coordination
- Liaise with vendors for IT infrastructure issues and maintenance.
- Proactive Monitoring & Maintenance
- Execute periodic hardware maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive solutions.
- Documentation
- Keep all technical documents updated and stored in the repository.
- AI Tool Familiarity
- Utilize at least one Gen AI tool (e.g., Copilot, GPT, Gemini) for operational efficiency.
Required Experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar End-User Support role.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers).
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows/Linux OS.
- Microsoft 365 setup and support.
- DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory management.
- Basic LAN/WAN networking troubleshooting.
- Video conferencing and meeting room setup.
- Familiarity with Gen AI tools (e.g., Copilot, GPT, Gemini).
- Experience in IT asset management and vendor coordination.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
