Job Description

As an Engineering authority specializing in Flexible A.C. Transmission Systems (FACTS) technology aligned with Power Quality Solutions (PQS) Business, your role involves significant impact through various responsibilities: - Define topology and single line diagram based on customer requirements. - Specify main circuit components in compliance with customer specifications and international standards. - Co-ordinate with suppliers for optimal design and evaluate their design and test record documents. - Perform design studies including harmonic performance, protection design, insulation coordination, loss evaluation, and Reliability study. - Create and validate power system equivalents in RMS and EMT software packages. - Develop understanding of control algorithms and stay updated with new methodologies. - Conduct dynamic performance studies with FACTS devices integrated in power system networks. - Develop FACTS solution models in multiple software packages. - Coordinate with other disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries. - Participate in research and development activities and customer discussions. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your background should ideally include: - PhD in Power Systems with 1-3 years of relevant work experience. - M. Tech in Power Systems with 2-5 years of relevant work experience. - B.E/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of relevant work experience. - In-depth understanding of power system steady state, dynamic, and transient behavior. - Experience in specifying power system components and evaluating vendor documents. - Experience with grid integration studies for power electronics converter-based applications. - Knowledge of Simulation tools like PSCAD, PSSE, DIgSILENT, EMTP, RTDS, MATLAB. - Understanding of international standards for specifying power system components/solutions. - Strong team player with good communication skills and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams. - Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
