Internship Opportunity: System Administrator (Backend Infrastructure)

Location: India - Remote

Salary : 55,000 - 75,000 Per Month

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented DevOps + System Administrator to join our backend infrastructure team. You will work directly with our senior engineers to design, maintain, and optimize a distributed server environment that powers a high-performance web platform.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience with scalable backend systems, cloud/VPS management, CI/CD, and modern infrastructure technologies.

Infrastructure Overview

You will be working with VPS servers hosted with the following configuration:

• Node.js Backend + Load Balancer
• Node.js Backend (redundancy)
• PostgreSQL + Redis
• Kafka + ClickHouse + Milvus
• Automated Backups + Monitoring

• Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy, manage, and monitor Node.js backend services on multiple VPS servers.
• Set up and maintain load balancers, reverse proxies (NGINX/HAProxy), and SSL certificates.
• Configure and optimize PostgreSQL and Redis databases for performance and security.
• Manage and monitor Kafka, ClickHouse, and Milvus infrastructure for data pipelines.
• Implement automated backup, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Assist in setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI).
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure smooth deployment workflows.
• Maintain documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurations.

• Required Skills & KnowledgeBasic understanding of Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred)
• Familiarity with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis environments
• Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration concepts
• Experience with SSH, firewalls, and basic networking
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools
• Understanding of cloud or VPS management (DigitalOcean, Time4VPS, FlokiNET, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)

• Nice to HaveExperience with Kafka, ClickHouse, or Milvus
• Understanding of load balancing and high availability architectures
• Experience with automation using Bash or Python scripting
• Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
