About the Organisation:

Navjyoti India Foundation is a not-for-profit society, registered in 1988 by then 16 serving police officers of Delhi Police and conceived by Dr. Kiran Bedi, the first Indian woman IPS, and her team of North District Police. The foundation was initiated with the main objective of crime prevention through welfare policing.

Over the last 36 years, we have been working relentlessly to bring about qualitative behavioural change and positively impact the lives of underserved communities in the urban slums of northwest Delhi and rural/peri-urban spaces of District Gurugram, Haryana. Our bottom-up approach of inclusive development and self-motivation has touched millions of lives through our programs in Child Education, Women Empowerment, Skill Upgradation for Youth, Community Development, and the Environment.

Job Title: Coordinator Sustainability

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, Climate Change, or a related field.

Experience: 23 years

Location: Naya Gaon, Sohna Block, Gurugram, Haryana

Salary: INR 40,000 45,000 per month (CTC)

Summary:

The Coordinator Sustainability will be responsible for conceptualising, planning, implementing, and monitoring sustainability projects in alignment with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks. The role involves conducting need assessments, developing project proposals, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring long-term community ownership of sustainability interventions.

Key Responsibility Area:

1 Site Assessments & Need Identification

• Conduct field visits and baseline studies to assess sustainability-related needs.
• Identify opportunities for sustainable interventions aligned with ESG priorities.

2 Project Proposal Development

• Draft project proposals, concept notes, and budgets.
• Ensure proposals integrate climate resilience, social inclusion, and governance principles.

3 Project Planning & Implementation

• Prepare project plans with clear timelines, outputs, and indicators.
• Lead and coordinate the implementation of sustainability projects on the ground.

4 Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Assessment

• Develop and apply M&E frameworks.
• Document outcomes, best practices, and assess the impact of interventions.

5 Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building

• Establish partnerships with government bodies, corporates, communities, NGOs, etc.
• Conduct sensitisation workshops and capacity-building sessions.

6 Networking & Advocacy

• Represent the organisation in sustainability forums and networks.
• Build collaborations with corporates for CSR/ESG-linked projects.

7 Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare timely reports for donors, internal teams, and statutory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with ESG standards, donor guidelines, and organisational policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Master's degree in relevant field (Environmental Science/Sustainability/Climate Change etc.)
• Additional certifications in ESG, sustainability, M&E, or project management are an advantage.
• 23 years experience in sustainability/ESG/NGO/CSR projects
• Proven proposal/report writing skills aligned with ESG/sustainability goals
• Experience with field implementation, M&E, and stakeholder engagement
• Strong understanding of ESG, SDGs, and sustainability frameworks
• Excellent communication, planning, and facilitation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data tools
• Willingness to travel extensively to project sites and rural locations

Mandatory Requirements:

• Own vehicle for field visits, willingness to relocate near Naya Gaon (Sohna Block, Gurugram)
• Flexibility for extensive field visits
• Strong reporting and documentation skills
