Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients

    engineering and design teams

     to understand new or modified part specifications, materials, and performance criteria.
  • Maintain and Manage P2P cycle for assigned components, items and Equipment’s.
  • Identify

    potential suppliers

     (existing or alternate) capable of meeting technical and commercial requirements.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs to multiple suppliers related to Mechanical components, PLC panels, Instruments etc. ensuring all technical and commercial details are clearly defined. Collect and evaluate supplier quotations for compliance and competitiveness.
  • Prepare techno-commercial bid summaries and recommend best-fit suppliers.
  • Monitor order progress, coordinate inspections, and ensure on-time delivery of materials to site or plant.
  • Coordinate with

    global supply chain teams

     for part qualification, cost benchmarking, and lead-time evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain

    approved vendor lists (AVL)

     for components introduced through ECOs.
  • Support

    obsolescence management

     by identifying replacement options and facilitating validation with engineering teams.
  • Prepare and maintain sourcing documentation, including

    RFQs, supplier data sheets, and compliance checklists

    .
  • Track implementation of ECO-related components through

    ERP systems

    , ensuring accurate configuration and BOM updates.
  • Work closely with

    logistics and operations

     to ensure timely availability of parts for field retrofits and service operations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback to enhance

    quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness

    .
  • Identify sourcing risks related to supply chain disruptions, capacity limitations, or geopolitical issues.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with company requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or Supply Chain Engineering (MBA or postgraduate diploma in supply chain preferred).
  • 7–10 years of experience in engineering sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain operations within energy, manufacturing, or process industries.
  • Experience managing ECO/ECR-driven sourcing activities and working with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and quality standards (ASME, ISO).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with North American or global suppliers is an advantage.

  • Exposure to

    fuel cells, hydrogen systems, or clean energy technology

  • Experience with

    supplier qualification, component validation, and lifecycle management

    .
  • Understanding of

    configuration control, cost reduction, and reliability improvement

     initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in a

    global delivery model

     with client teams.
