Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)

Roles & Responsibilities -

1. Part Revalidation

• Check parts at the suppliers site to make sure they meet quality standards.
  
• Perform inspections, measurements, and tests to verify part quality.
  

2. CAPA Follow-up

• Lead efforts to identify and solve quality problems (CAPA).
  
• Track and ensure corrective actions are taken to fix issues and prevent them from happening again.
  

3. Supplier Audits and Monitoring

• Visit suppliers to check their quality processes and performance.
  
• Monitor key metrics like

  PPM

  (parts per million) and give feedback to suppliers for improvement.

4. Problem Solving

• Investigate and solve quality issues using tools like 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams.
  
• Work with suppliers to find and fix the root cause of problems.
  

5. Continuous Improvement

• Help improve quality and efficiency by suggesting process improvements.
  
• Use methods like

  Lean

  or

  Six Sigma

  to reduce defects.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Keep accurate records of inspections, audits, CAPA actions, and test results.
  
• Prepare reports to update management on quality performance.
  

7. Collaboration

• Work closely with internal teams like

  Engineering

  ,

  Manufacturing

  Procurement

  to meet quality goals.
• Support suppliers in meeting quality standards and improve their processes.
  

8. Training and Support

• Provide guidance to suppliers on quality expectations and improvement practices.
  

9. Risk Management

• Identify and address risks related to supplier quality, ensuring smooth production.
  

10. Compliance

• Make sure all work follows industry standards and customer requirements.
  

Qualifications

• Degree in

  Engineering

  ,

  Quality Management

  , or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, CAPA, and inspections.
  
• Knowledge of quality standards like

  ISO 9001

  and

  ISO/TS 16949

  .
• Familiar with

  Root Cause Analysis

  ,

  SPC

  , and

  data analysis

  .
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
