Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality of heavy structural components and other critical commodities (hydraulic, electrical) sourced from suppliers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in supplier inspections, process audits, root cause analysis, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and inspection tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Inspection & Quality Control:
  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Setup and monitor process to ensure supplier follow the procedure defined at the time of development of components
  • Conduct inspections of all category of components at supplier locations.
  • Supplier performance for series supply
    • Target RFT : >95%
  • Issue resolution time :
    • 4 hours for deciding action plan, 2 days for local supplier replacement/ rework
• ECR s and ECN:
  • Implementation of the ECNs for the components
  • Raise ECR, share explanation and follow up for approval.

• Process Audits & Supplier Evaluation:
  • Perform process audits to assess supplier capabilities and adherence to quality systems.
  • Pre-defined monthly audit plan to cover all the suppliers onboard

• Monthly audit reports and action plan to be on track continuous improvement drive.

• Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions:
  • Lead investigations into supplier quality issues using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.
  • Drive implementation of preventive actions (PA).
• Support the plant Quality:
  • Support the plant quality team in resolving issue observed during the assembly or testing pertaining to supplier delivered components.
• Manufacturing Process Knowledge:
  • Understand and evaluate supplier manufacturing processes for structural, hydraulic, and electrical components.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers for process improvements.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the plant quality team to resolve incoming quality issues.
  • Support cross-functional teams in supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Taking updates from SDE at a regular set interval for components being developed and share feedback reviewing the production setup
• Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain inspection reports, audit findings, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Prepare quality dashboards and present findings to management with actions.
  • Quarterly best supplier award selection based on a predefined criterion.
  • Promote continuous improvement activities at supplier end.

• REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge about Machining, Fabrication, welding process & Hydraulic, Electrical added advantages.
  • Knowledge about AQP, Supplier audit, QMS documentation.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Project)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, time management and planning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding on ISO 9001:2015 & EHS Standards.
  • Must be detail oriented and perform well under pressure.
