Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate forge shop operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
Oversee the setup and operation of forging equipment, including hammers, presses, and furnaces.
Monitor workflow, allocate resources effectively, and adjust schedules as needed.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
Train, mentor, and evaluate forge shop personnel to enhance their skills and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Maintain accurate production records and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Coordinate with other departments, such as quality control and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of forging machinery and tools.

Preferred candidate profile

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in engineering or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a forging or metalworking environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of forging processes, metallurgy, and quality control standards.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using forge shop equipment and tools.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills, including knowledge of production tracking systems.
