Role & responsibilities

Store Operations Management

• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the store.
  
• Monitor inventory levels, restocking, and shelf management.
  
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the store premises.
  

Team Management

• Recruit, train, and supervise store staff including cashiers, stock boys, floor managers, etc.
  
• Create staff duty rosters and assign tasks efficiently.
  
• Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
  

Customer Experience & Service

• Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
  
• Resolve customer complaints or escalations promptly and effectively.
  
• Train staff on soft skills and customer interaction.
  

Inventory & Stock Management

• Track stock movement, manage shrinkage, and prevent stockouts.
  
• Coordinate with suppliers/vendors for timely deliveries.
  
• Conduct regular audits and physical stock verifications.
  

Sales & Profitability

• Monitor daily sales performance and meet monthly sales targets.
  
• Implement strategies to increase footfall and basket size.
  
• Analyze sales data to identify top-selling and slow-moving products.
  

Visual Merchandising & Promotions

• Ensure proper product display and store layout according to seasonal trends or company guidelines.
  
• Execute in-store marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
  

Cash & Billing Supervision

• Oversee billing counters, cash registers, and cash flow.
  
• Ensure zero billing discrepancies and secure daily deposits.
  

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to all company policies, health & safety norms, and local regulations.
  
• Generate and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to the head office.
  

Technology & System Oversight

• Manage Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, barcoding, and billing software.
  
• Troubleshoot basic tech issues and liaise with IT support when needed.
  

Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination

• Work with procurement teams and local vendors for sourcing products.
  
• Ensure product quality, cost control, and on-time replenishment.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience:

• 3-6 years

  of experience in retail store operations.
• Minimum

  1-2 years

  in a team lead or managerial role.
• Experience in

  FMCG, supermarkets, or departmental stores

  like BigBasket, Reliance Fresh, D-Mart, etc., is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
  
• Excellent customer service orientation.
  
• Ability to multitask and manage operational pressure.
  
• Basic knowledge of

  inventory control, sales tracking, and billing systems

  .
• Proficiency in using POS software and Microsoft Excel.
  
• Good communication skills in Hindi and English (local language proficiency is a plus).
  
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability on the shop floor.
