Job Description

Position - Store Executive

Experience: 3-5 Years

Qualification: Diploma in Electrical / Any Graduation

A site storekeeper is primarily responsible for managing the inventory and materials at a construction or industrial site. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials. They ensure that the right materials are available when needed, in the correct quantities, and in good condition, while also maintaining a safe and organized storage environment.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of their responsibilities:

Ø Core Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate records of stock receipts, issues, and balances
  • Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of materials
  • Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
  • Label, stack, and store materials properly to prevent damage

Ø Receiving & Issuing Materials

  • Inspect incoming materials for quantity and quality
  • Record deliveries and update inventory systems
  • Issue materials as per approved requisitions or indents
  • Track returnable items and unused materials

Ø Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain stock registers, issue slips, and delivery challans
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly consumption reports
  • Assist engineers in preparing material reconciliation statements
  • Keep records of tools, machinery, and departmental assets

Ø Safety & Security

  • Ensure proper locking and sealing of stores after working hours
  • Hand over charge to night security with signed documentation
  • Restrict unauthorized access to store areas
  • Monitor and report any material wastage or misuse

Ø Housekeeping & Maintenance

  • Keep the store clean, organized, and hazard-free
  • Periodically rearrange and audit stock
  • Ensure proper stacking and segregation of materials
  • Maintain display boards/slates for stock updates

Ø Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with suppliers for timely delivery of materials
  • Inform site engineers about stock status and requirements
  • Coordinate with accounts for billing and cash purchases
  • Support site operations by ensuring material availability
