Steel Structural Design Engineer

Position: Design Engineer – Civil & Structural

Location: Mogappair, Chennai

Duration: Full Time

• Experience: Minimum [3 to 5] years in design of steel structures
• Skills: STAAD Pro / Tekla / Idea Statica, with exposure to metro or infrastructure projects preferre

Role and Responsibilities

· Hands on experience in design of RCC structures & Steel structures in Staad Pro V8i.

· Independently prepare structural design reports & drawings based on architectural layouts.

· Check Capacity of base plate & other Structural Steel connections.

· Strong in Checking RCC & Steel Detailing / BBS & MTO.

· Experience in design of Foundations using MS Excel spreadsheets.

· Good knowledge in Design Codes like ACI-318, BS8110 & IS456.

· Strong in MS Excel formulas & manual calculations when required.

· Understand client requirement & prepare design reports with minimal supervision.

· Should be able to check the drawings for design intent & markup corrections.

· Allocate, plan & monitor work given to drafting team. Ensure that project in on schedule.

· Good skills in AutoCAD. Able to prepare basic layouts & General Arrangement / Detailing Drawings in CAD.

· Good communication skills, team player, able to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

3+ years of experience purely in a design engineer role, preferably from a consulting engineering company or EPC company.

Bachelor / Master in Engineering : Civil / Structural

Software Packages: Staad Pro V8i, MS Excel, E-Tabs, SAP2000, AutoCAD
