Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specify static mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, air

coolers, and filters.

  • Develop mechanical datasheets, equipment specifications, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with codes such as ASME Section VIII, TEMA, API

650/620, and CSA standards.

  • Conduct design calculations for wall thickness, nozzles, flanges, and supports using tools like PV Elite,

Compress, or equivalent.

  • Interface with piping, civil, process, and procurement teams for equipment integration.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings with vendors and clients.
  • Review fabrication drawings and participate in inspections and FATs as required.
  • Provide mechanical support during equipment installation and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (Masters preferred).
  • 12–15 years of experience in mechanical/static equipment engineering in oil & gas, petrochemical, or

heavy industrial projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of ASME, API, TEMA, CSA, and other international codes/standards.
  • Experience in using mechanical design software (PVElite, Compress, CodeCalc).
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Canadian fabrication practices and local code requirements.
