Job Title: ICU Staff Nurse

Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Summary

The ICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients. The nurse will monitor, assess, plan, and implement patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, clinical standards, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with physician orders and ICU protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage life-support equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps.
  • Perform regular patient assessments and document observations accurately in patient records.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and participate in resuscitation and other life-saving procedures.
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (doctors, respiratory therapists, dieticians, etc.) to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate and support patients’ families regarding treatment plans and ICU protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and audits to enhance clinical competencies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: B.Sc / GNM in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Registration: Registered Nurse with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (or eligible for registration).
  • Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in ICU / Critical Care (freshers with ICU training may also be considered).
  • Skills:
  • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in operating ICU equipment and managing critical care procedures.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Working Hours:

Rotational shifts (morning, evening, night) as per hospital schedule.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
